Ceridwen Fraser Australian Marine Sciences Association 2026 Conference

Ceridwen Fraser

Crid grew up in Canberra, and studied marine science at JCU and at Macquarie University, but is now based at the University of Otago, in beautiful Dunedin, southern New Zealand, where she is a professor in the Marine Science department, and Associate Dean of Research for the Sciences Division. Her research combine genomic approaches with ecology and physical sciences to understand the environmental drivers of large-scale biodiversity patterns (in other words, she's a biogeographer). Crid is on sabbatical in Canberra for the second half of this year, collaborating with colleagues at the ANU, where she used to work before moving to NZ. Crid's current research includes Antarctic and sub-Antarctic biogeography, as well as disease ecology in Australia and New Zealand.
