Matt Barwick brings over two decades of experience working at the intersection of science, policy, and environmental delivery. He currently serves as Director of Reef Restoration and Partnerships at the Australian Government’s Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water, where he leads collaborative initiatives focused on reef restoration, innovation, and long‑term environmental outcomes.
Throughout his career, Matt has led complex, multi‑stakeholder programs spanning sustainable fisheries, invasive species management, and marine ecosystem protection. Matt is motivated by work that blends sound science, strong partnerships, and real‑world impact.
