Jordan C Murray

Jordan Murray is a marine ecologist and PhD candidate at the University of the Sunshine Coast, where his research examines how climate change and environmental variability restructure ecological communities across marine ecosystems. Combining seascape ecology, community ecology, and spatial modelling, he investigates how environmental gradients shape foundation species, biodiversity, and ecosystem reorganisation under ecological change. His work draws on multiscale field surveys and spatially explicit environmental data to characterise community assembly and disturbance responses, and to forecast how rapidly changing coastal systems may reorganise into the future. Jordan collaborates with government agencies, traditional owners and conservation partners, with the aim of informing biodiversity monitoring and climate-resilient management of coastal ecosystems.
