Umma Zannat
I am the Team Leader for the Australian Geospatial reference Frame in Positioning Australia Branch, of the Space Division at Geoscience Australia, where we ensure accurate and reliable positioning and navigation for Australia. My team maintains Australia’s national datums, which are reference points on Earth’s surface that are used to measure and describe locations, such as the static datum called GDA2020 (Geocentric Datum of Australia 2020). We also maintain reference frames, which define coordinates for positions, such as the time-dependent ATRF2014 (Australian Terrestrial Reference Frame 2014), or the APREF (Asia-Pacific Reference Frame), with the help of measurements from geodetic ground stations such as the Continuously Operating Reference Stations (CORS) network, in collaboration with the International GNSS Service (IGS).
