Jarell Cubarrubia
Jarell is a geoscience honours student at the Australian National University. He is currently working in experimental petrology and analytical chemistry. He is working on using electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy to elucidate the iron oxidation state in mid-ocean ridge basalt.
Jarell's research interests lie at the intersection of geoscience and chemistry. He is passionate about high and low temperature geochemistry, and is particularly interested in how redox processes influence the physical and chemical evolution of rocks. He has also developed a keen interest in sedimentology and was a participant of the 2025 ANZIC Marine Geoscience Masterclass to Fiordland, New Zealand.
