Anthony J. Richardson
Anthony is a quantitative ecologist, climate change ecologist, and marine spatial planner at the University of Queensland. He earned his BSc from the University of Queensland in 1992, majoring in Maths and Ecology, before completing his PhD in Marine Ecology from the University of Cape Town (South Africa) in 1998. Following several postdoctoral fellowships at universities in South Africa, he moved to the Marine Biological Association of the UK, before returning to Australia in 2005.
His research focuses on applying mathematical, statistical and computational models to improve marine conservation and understand impacts of climate change on marine ecosystems. He has published over 250 papers, with his work cited more than 35,000 times. His contributions have advanced our understanding of how climate change is impacting marine life, and informed strategies for marine spatial planning.
