Renske Jongen
Renske Jongen is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Sydney and Visiting Fellow at UNSW. Her research sits at the intersection of ecology, microbiology and global change biology, investigating how microbial communities influence plant performance and ecosystem resilience under environmental change. She combines manipulative field and laboratory experiments with microbial sequencing to move beyond describing microbiomes towards understanding when and how they matter. Her work spans terrestrial and marine systems, with a current focus on seagrasses and how plant–microbe interactions can inform ecosystem restoration.
