I am a marine biology and zoology honours graduate from the Coastal And Ocean Science lab at the University of Queensland.
My particular interests include the interdisciplinary connection between biogeographical oceanography & ecology (i.e. the 'how' behind the ecosystems) and marine imagery of deep sea, Southern Ocean & Antarctic ecosystems. I am transitioning into my next career phase, and looking for PhD supervision or career opportunities.
Under the supervision of oceanographer Helen Bostock and with collaboration with researchers from CSIRO, my honours investigated how we can assess and compare taxon-specific detection biases between different methods of marine imagery in DTC fish surveys, and highlight any potential ecological, morphometric or locomotory traits that make a species more suitable for a particular imagery type.
