Varshani Brabaharan
I'm Varshani Brabaharan, a PhD student in Environmental Engineering at the University of Western Australia’s School of Engineering, specializing in oceanography. I hold a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Marine and Freshwater Sciences from the University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka, and has professional training in software engineering. I have worked across academia, industry, and NGOs as a research assistant, AI-for-Good engineer, contract software developer, and sustainability intern, with experience spanning underwater image domain adaptation, glider data systems, marine conservation, and science communication. I'm is an active member of international geoscience and marine networks, a PADI Open Water diver, and a committed volunteer in education and marine conservation initiatives.
