Andrew Persian

I am an Adelaide University Graduate Researcher currently completing a PhD in Environmental Psychology. I have a broad set of research interests centring around human behaviour and am particularly interested in the interactions between people and nature. This includes the biopsychosocial factors that influence these relationships, how connection with natural spaces influences wellbeing and behaviour, and ways to improve conservation efforts. I am also interested in public health, social justice, and have a passion for science communication. I enjoy employing both qualitative and quantitative methodologies to investigate topics and am intent on integrating interdisciplinary perspectives whenever possible. My PhD is focussing on ocean literacy and environmental psychology in the context of South Australia’s 2025-26 harmful algal bloom.
