Amy Basnett
As Head of Programs at Eco-Markets Australia, I lead the Secretariat and support the Technical Advisory Committee with the primary role of implementing the ENVOMARK Value Nature Framework across water and biodiversity voluntary natural capital credit markets. Additional responsibilities include market scale and activation, development of Scheme Standards and processes, stakeholder relations, and market education as an industry speaker.
Experience administering the inaugural Reef Credits Scheme with over 65,000 credits issued to date for water improvement in the World Heritage Listed Great Barrier Reef; the Cassowary Credits Scheme launched in May 2025 for benefits to rainforest biodiversity in the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area with credits able to be stacked with ACCU’s; and the Australasian Catchment Water Improvement Standard (ACWIS) launched November 2025 which enables water improvement credit-generating projects in catchment settings, defined by the relevant water quality improvement plan or comparable strategy across Australasia.
With over 20 years’ experience in water quality improvement, catchment management, nutrient intervention, research, and strategy, I bring a proven track record in program delivery and stakeholder engagement.
I am passionate about problem solving, designing and enabling market-based solutions that drive environmental restoration, sustainable development, and productivity.
