Peter Walsh
Peter Walsh is a research data systems and environmental informatics specialist with a passion for enabling impactful marine science. With a foundation in fire behaviour and ecology, and decades of experience in research data management, software development, and data infrastructure, he has led transformative projects across research, government, and industry. At the University of Tasmania’s Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies (IMAS), Peter leads a highly skilled team advancing research data practices through FAIR-aligned, interoperable systems and evidence-based decision support tools. His work bridges science and technology, empowering researchers and stakeholders with robust, sustainable digital solutions.
