Peter Teye Busumprah
Peter Teye Busumprah is the CEO of Ocean Rock Base and serves as the project lead for the African Ocean Biodiversity Atlas, an initiative endorsed by the UN Ocean Decade and coordinated by the Africa Ocean Alliance. He is a member of the Steering Committee for the UNESCO/IOC Project Office of IODE’s Ocean Data and Information Systems (ODIS).
He holds the position of secretary for the Africa Cryosphere Professionals Forum. Peter is also a member of the ECOP Steering Committee for the UN Decade Coast Predict Program. He has contributed as an expert member to the UN Ocean Decade Vision 2030 process and participated in the UN Regular Process for the World Ocean Assessment III. He received the Ocean Tribute Awards 2024, the Ocean Awards 2025 in the Local Hero category, and the All-Atlantic Ocean Research and Innovation Alliance Photo Awards in 2026.
