Alessandra Vallim is a PhD candidate at the University of Auckland researching megafauna bioturbation, with a focus on how the foraging behaviour of eagle rays influences sediment dynamics and benthic ecosystems in coastal environments. She also serves as South Pacific Programme Manager for The International SeaKeepers Society, where she works to facilitate ocean research by connecting scientists with vessels, supporting citizen science initiatives, and advancing marine conservation across the region.
