Jiliang Chen
Jiliang Chen is a PhD researcher in the School of Natural Sciences at Macquarie University. His research interests include the governance of the global commons, with a focus on conserving marine biodiversity in areas beyond national jurisdiction, such as the Antarctic Ocean. He holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental science and a master’s degree in environmental management. Prior to joining Macquarie University, he worked on international environmental policies for several NGOs. Since 2007, he has regularly participated in global environmental negotiations, engaging with issues including climate equity, the application of the precautionary approach, fisheries management, and marine spatial conservation.
