Jordan Ivey

Jordan Ivey is a proud Bundjalung and South Sea Islander descendant. He studied at Southern Cross University and the University of the South Pacific where he graduated with a degree in Marine Science and Management. During his studies he was a recipient of DFAT’s prestigious New Colombo Plan Scholarship which enabled him to study and complete a research-based internship in Fiji. Since graduating Jordan has been working with the Distinguished Professor Peter Harrison as a Research Assistant and Indigenous Engagement Officer on various coral larval restoration projects on the Great Barrier Reef. Jordan currently works with the Australian Institute of Marine Science as the Indigenous Training and Capacity Building Officer where he over looks training and capacity building of Indigenous peoples internally and externally in the marine science sector. These positions allow for Jordan to follow his passions in educating and providing Indigenous people with opportunities to succeed in the marine science sector while allowing him to make a difference in restoring the natural environment.
