After completing my Cert III in Ecosystems Management and Conservation with the Darumbal Female Cohort Rangers, I have been successful in gaining employment with Darumbal as a part time Cultural Heritage Officer out at the Boulder Creek Wind Farm, Fauna Spotter Catcher and Snake Handling Course and then as a Fulltime Darumbal Land and Sea Ranger with the Queensland Indigenous Land and Sea Ranger Program. At the moment we are involved in many projects and works around the community and surroundings
· Native Seeds Programs with various groups and Councils
· Threatened Endangered Species
· (Flat Back Turtle, Capricorn Yellow chat and the Mt Etna Ghost Bat)
· Sea Grass Monitoring (Thermal Risk Assessments)
· Fire Management (Cultural, Prescribed Burns)
· Weed Management (Chemical Spraying)
· Civil Construction (Excavator, Skid steer and end loader Tickets)
· Cultural Heritage
· Reef Restoration Projects
· Birds Surveys on Swain Reefs NP (Study and Bird Count)
These are just a few programs and projects that I do, as a Proud Darumbal woman I have a strong passion and Love working for my People on Country, it is very uplifting and a feeling of accomplishment and giving, putting back into the community.
